Mister Wong, a social bookmark service with strong community features, launched a specialized iPhone version for browsing bookmarks.
The iPhone is not launched yet in Germany, but of course, there is hype over here as well, and services already prepare for it. One example is social bookmarking site Mister Wong, which presented their new service on Friday.
Anyone can surf to http://iPhone.mister-wong.mobi/ and look at fresh or popular bookmarks. If you want to try the look and feel without an iPhone, you may visit a simulation.
Kai Tietjen, founder of Mister Wong explains:
I was really fascinated when the iPhone was launched because it is the first mobile device which is really suitable for mobile browsing. We wanted to be the first German web 2.0 service which offers iPhone-Support for our users.At the moment, you can browse through the bookmarked sites as well as the popular sites in our other portals. We may add additional features in the future.
The interesting thing is that you can see what websites are popular right now around the world, because we have specific portals in Russian, Chinese, Spanish, French and of course in German.
The German site alone has had over 2 million bookmarked entries as of the end of June 2007, the international portals sum to about half a million bookmarks. The English version is currently in the closed beta but is supposed to launch next week.
